For Adults and Children
Life can become overwhelming. Anxiety, burnout, emotional exhaustion, relationship pressures, or past experiences can shape how we think, feel, and respond to the world around us.
At Ragdoll we support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of adults and children, offering a calm space to pause, talk things through, and begin to make sense of what life may be holding.
We place real value on having a space where you can pause, think out loud, and offload what life has been holding. Alongside this reflective space, we draw on psychological understanding and trauma-informed approaches to help people understand their experiences and move forward with greater clarity.

Support for Adults
Adults often reach out when life begins to feel heavy or difficult to manage alone. This might relate to work pressures, burnout, anxiety, relationship challenges, or experiences that continue to affect everyday life.
We commonly support adults experiencing:
- Emotional overwhelm or feeling stuck
- Anxiety and stress
- Burnout and emotional exhaustion
- Trauma and difficult life experiences
- Low mood or depression
- Relationship difficulties
Support for Children and Young People
Children and young people do not always have the words to explain how they feel. Difficult experiences, school pressures, friendship challenges, or family changes can show up through behaviour, anxiety, withdrawal, or emotional distress.
Our work helps children feel safe, understood, and supported, while also helping parents and caregivers better understand what their child may be communicating through their behaviour.
We commonly support children experiencing:
- The impact of trauma or difficult life experiences
- Anxiety or worries
- Emotional outbursts or withdrawal
- Friendship or school difficulties
- Low confidence or low mood
Ways we work
There is no single way to support people through difficult experiences. At Ragdoll we draw on a range of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, adapting our work to the individual rather than relying on one fixed method.
Our work is creative and flexible, and we often fuse ideas from different therapeutic models to respond to what each person needs. Sometimes the work focuses on creating space to think, reflect, and make sense of what life has been holding. At other times we may draw on more structured therapeutic approaches to support emotional regulation, processing difficult experiences, or trauma recovery.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
A structured therapy that helps the brain process difficult or traumatic memories so they become less overwhelming over time. EMDR is recommended by NICE as a treatment for post-traumatic stress.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
A practical therapy that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping people develop new ways of responding to challenges and difficult situations.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
A therapy that helps people understand and regulate intense emotions, while building practical skills for coping with distress and managing relationships.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
A therapy that supports people to develop psychological flexibility, helping them respond to difficult thoughts and feelings while staying connected to what matters most to them.
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
A therapeutic listening programme designed to support nervous system regulation. Specially filtered music helps the body move towards a greater sense of safety and social engagement.
BUSS (Building Underdeveloped Sensory Systems)
A sensory-based therapeutic approach designed to support children whose early experiences may have impacted the development of their sensory systems. BUSS focuses on building the foundations for regulation, body awareness, and emotional stability through structured sensory activities.
Play Therapy
A therapeutic approach that allows children to express thoughts and feelings through play rather than words. Play therapy provides a safe way for children to explore experiences and emotions at their own pace.
SandStory Therapy®
A gentle therapeutic approach using sand and symbolic objects within a sandtray. This allows people to explore and express experiences visually, particularly when words are difficult to find.
